HOT BOSS
Two strangers come together for hot, passionate sex one lonely night in a bar. The next day, Nathan Wright discovers that his new boss is none other than his anonymous partner of the night before. Sasha Ronan is hot, rich and head of the most powerful law firm in the city. He also doesn't believe in mixing business with pleasure and tells Nathan in no uncertain terms that their illicit dalliance must be swept under the carpet.
Nathan, desperate to make partner, fears for his future, but other forces are at work. Try as he might, he can't forget the night he spent with his forbidden lover...
READ AN EXCERPT
Sasha looked up. He kept his violet gaze on Nathan’s until Nathan’s spine began to prickle. His stomach lurched and his cock pressed insistently against his zipper. This man was going to be the death of him. He could barely breathe for the lust coursing through his blood. He was sure that one day he would jump across that desk, shove Sasha down over it, and take what he wanted. The thought nearly made him groan.
“I have
another project for you,” Sasha said.
Nathan bit back an instant retort. Something trite
because that’s all I can be trusted with?
Sasha
regarded him for a moment as though he read Nathan’s mind, causing Nathan to
flush. Sasha turned his attention to his laptop and tapped a couple of keys.
“Come here.”
This was said in such a commanding tone of voice that Nathan
lurched to his feet on unsteady legs. He felt ungraceful as he moved around the
desk, all uncoordinated limbs and roaring heartbeat. He hoped his boss didn’t
think he was drunk, because he felt drunk, dizzy with desire.
Sasha
carried on speaking as though unaware of Nathan’s torment. “It’s a divorce
case.”
“I don’t do
divorce cases,” Nathan said as he reached Sasha’s side, the fog clearing
slightly to be replaced by irritation.
“You’ll do
this one. Highly prestigious for the company. Mitch Garner’s wife is taking him
for every penny he’s got.”
Nathan
didn’t know who Mitch Garner was and didn’t much care. He stood at Sasha’s
side, glancing at the laptop screen and seeing nothing because that familiar
scent of his boss’s cologne had overwhelmed him. His eyes slipped shut, he
breathed in, and was transported back to that stall and the best night of his
life.
“She wants
us to hire a private detective to get evidence of his infidelity. Seems like an
open-and-shut case,” Sasha went on. “I mean, look at these.”
Nathan
squinted at the screen. He couldn’t make out what Sasha was pointing at and
leaned closer, right over his boss’s shoulder.
Sasha turned his face. Suddenly they were nose to nose,
almost mouth to mouth. Sasha’s intake of breath was unmistakable and made
Nathan’s heart soar. I have
the same effect on him as he has on me. He can’t breathe, just like me. There’s
something more at play here. Something more than physical.
The air was
thin. Nathan stayed still, his gaze straying from those violet eyes to Sasha’s
slightly parted lips. His boss’s thick lashes veiled his eyes as his glance
fixed on Nathan’s mouth.
Nathan’s
lips were drawn as though magnetized. They trembled in anticipation and his eyes
fell shut. He felt Sasha’s breath on his desperate mouth and waited for soft
flesh on his.
A knock on
the door crashed through the tension. Nathan sprang back towards the window in
shock, his hand to his lips as though the imaginary kiss was branded there. The
door flew open and Tom strode in, his jolly expression turning to suspicion as
he eyed Nathan and his boss.
